Hongyi Xu

I am a Finance PhD student at the Stockholm School of Economics. My research interests are in corporate debt, corporate governance, and information in capital markets.

I am on the academic job market in 2026–2027.

My job market paper studies how expected future cash flows affect firms' debt capacity and financing decisions.

I grew up in Hangzhou, China. Before joining SSE, I obtained Bachelor of Finance (Honours) at the Australian National University, where I received the University Medal.
